USEA Instructor Certification Program Hosted by Otter Creek Farm and Organized by Jenny Warner
The U.S. Eventing Instructors’ Certification Program is designed to develop, maintain, and increase the safe and effective practice of event riding instruction in the United States. It does this by educating event instructors at ICP Workshops, promoting mentoring relationships between instructors, certifying qualified event instructors at ICP Assessments, and monitoring certified instructor Continuing Education. The ICP Committee, whose members are listed below, acts as the core planning and administrative group. Essential to the implementation of our Workshops, mentoring relationships, and Assessments are the ICP faculty, the ICP mentors, the ICP assessors, and the ICP Workshops and Assessments hosts. The Program is coordinated centrally from the U.S. Eventing office by Nancy Myers, Promotions Specialist (703 779-0440 ext. 3007 or nancy@useventing.com). Although the goals, content, and schedule of ICP Workshops are determined by the ICP Committee and implemented by ICP Workshops faculty, these Workshops are supervised, supplied with riders/horses/scribes, and managed financially by each local host. ICP Committee: Karen O’Connor and Sue Hershey, co-chairs; Jennifer Bodtmann, Darren Chiacchia, Phyllis Dawson, Denny Emerson, Eric Horgan, David O’Brien, Mark Phillips, Jeffray Ryding, Brian Sabo, Don Sachey, Jerry Schurink, Joan Simmons, U.S. Eventing liaison Nancy Myers.
